All of the tracks on this album have amplitude modulation applied to them between 8 and 12Hz, the frequency associated with Alpha bran waves (wakeful relaxation).
I’ve worked them into various places and kept the sounds and melodies fairly simple. When I experimented with amplitude modulation I found that adding too much complexity messed with the effect.
The Theory
Amplitude Modulation has been shown in several studies (links below) to reduce tinnitus for some people.
In these pieces I used modulation of between 8Hz and 12Hz to correspond with Alpha brain wave frequencies. In many studies Alpha frequencies have been show to be low in people with tinnitus, which could have a link to the generation of the tinnitus signal.
