overview
An album full of bell sequences to cover all of the frequencies of tinnitus, my personal favourite masking sounds that also bring relief.
Some reasonably simple melodic sequences so everything remains pleasing, with synthesised bell sounds (and some samples).
The Theory
Natural form of amplitude modulation and also able to be used as a distraction, bells just have a quality on tinnitus that seems to work for a lot of people.
The sequences are designed to be random so the brain doesn’t have anything to settle on, when it can’t latch on to repetition it keeps attention locked and makes the sound active.
The concept is used in devices such as the Widex Zen, which they call fractal tones.
