overview
Using a selection of field recordings, mostly from my trusty Zoom H2n and around various sites in Yorkshire including the Dales and Peaks. I blended each track to make sure all frequencies were covered by the water sounds.
Sitting by a waterfall, stream or other natural water feature is natures masking. It’s not just a noise, it’s soothing and has seemingly infinite natural randomness in its constant sound.
The Theory
This is purely for masking. Covering all of the frequencies means it performs for all types of tinnitus as a masking sound.
Way better than using white noise or other noise types because it has variability. White noise and its cousins can often causes tinnitus spikes, specifically for chronic patients. Having variation seems to prevent that and makes these sounds far more tolerable.
